OUTCOMES
To reach the objectives described the project is split up into three main parts
The first part focuses on the production of:
Researches about the experimentations/experiences of “teaching through emotions” in the countries involved in the project
E-guide lines to be used for implementing the pedagogical methods based on emotional intelligence. The guidelines will be useful for teachers helping them to develop a collective knowledge base about ways to apply these teaching practices in a variety of real-life and school contexts.
Curricula concerning Intercultural understanding and The development of the religions in Europe.
The Emotional Learning curriculum for teacher training, a method for adding SEL to the curricula realized and for explaining the link between the social and emotional learning with other curriculum areas, so that time devoted to SEL lessons will benefit that area as well.
This step includes the realization of the Internet web-site and the e-learning platform.
The second part focuses on the production and experimentation of the teachers on-line training courses to prepare teachers to implement the SEL method into the curricula.
The on-line training courses provides the opportunity for teachers to:
Build continuity and "stickiness" into the SEL training program they attended;
Stay focused on their developmental goals;
Reinforce the tools and strategies learned in the Emotional Intelligence program;
Provide the opportunity to practice these new skills and techniques through interactive audio and video exercises.
This step includes the production of training materials to use on line and brief training experience for school administrators and parents.
The last part focuses on the experimentation of the curricula in some classrooms which test the curricula created in the first step and matched with emotional learning pedagogical method. It’s an exciting and potentially fruitful opportunity for teachers and students involved in this project.
A final report to contain the experimentation results and the Methodological Handbook
A video dossier to disseminate the project results
