Collaboration between Università delle LiberEtà and the local project “The garden and the moon – city gardens” of the Municipality of Udine within the NATURsAl project. Two projects for a mutual enrichment and interaction.
Organization of training offer, divided into two phases, for the Natural Science learners and for the citizens who are part of the project about the city gardens and who are now the owners of some vegetable gardens in the city.

FINLAND
A local newspaper in Sastamala region called Alueviesti published an article on Natur(s)_AL Learning partnership project on 1.12.2010. The article is by Sastamala Community College Coordinator Kari Kotiranta (photos also by him). The article introduces the project and the project activities plan at Sastamala Community College, praises the interesting natural sciences lessons at the Senior University of Évora and tells about the town of Évora, it's beauty, the vineyards and cork industry and also the Bone Chappel. In the article it is also said that the next project meeting is in Montesca, Italy

Chilicourse for Home Growers 2.4.2011
Participants: 6 men, 9 women
The course was aimed at people interested in growing chilli plants at home and in Finnish climate conditions. The course gave comprehensive information on how to grow chilli in turf or soil, the very many different varieties of chilli, taste, hotness, seedling and growth, flowering, collecting the chilli peppers and winter protection. The course also dealt with the annual calendar of chilli growing, soil, lighting, irrigation, nutrients, methods of preveting pests and and to preserve chillis for food and further use.

Recycling waste paper and wrappings
The first project course spring 2011 was on recycling materials. On this course the participants made beautiful bags and pouches on packaging paper and wrappings.

Natur(s)_AL Field Trip to a Herb Farm 7.5.2011
Participants: 15 women, 2 men
Sastamala College organised a one-day field trip to Frantsila Feel Good Center. The the participants learned about Finnish wild herbs and natural herbal remedies.

Science Field trip to Science Center Heureka in Helsinki 5.5.2011
On May 5th a group of 6 men and 5 women travelled to Helsinki for a Natur(s)_AL Art & Science Field trip. During this one-day excursion the participants visited the Finnish National Gallery and Ateneum Arts Museum http://www.ateneum.fi/default.asp?docId=12532, had a meeting with Helsinki Adult Education Centre Senior ICT peer tutors and staff introducing Natur(s)_AL project to them, and finally visited the the Finnish Science Center Heureka http://www.heureka.fi/portal/englanti/
